"Freedom is a responsibility." Ays

Ays is an Iraqi dentist. I came across his blog a couple of days ago while I was wandering around the internet. I was interested in learning what the Iraqi people really thought of Americans and what we are trying to do there. If you want to know what is really going on in Iraq, Ays' blog is a good place to start. He also has links to other Iraqi blogs that I haven't had a chance to read yet.

By now, unless you are a turnip, you should know that you can't believe what you see on television unless and until you have verified the information through some other means. When I say verify I don't mean checking out a story in a liberal rag to verify what the televised counter part has said. Like Boston Globe parroting CBS's memo story. Even the turnips know those were frauds.

America pulled out of Viet Nam because public opinion against the war was so strong. The public, unfortunately, had been duped. Lied to, manipulated and fraudulently fed propaganda by groups like John Kerry's Vietnam Veterans Against the War and media like Dan Rather. Remember television hadn't been around all that long and people didn't know enough to question news reports.

So eventually, after being told our soldiers were baby killers and rapists, the outrage was so great the people wanted the war over at any cost. Of course John Kerry was assuring everyone there would be no mass murder or genocide of the South Vietnamese if we left. He said only a few thousand would be displaced. He said we should leave without our POWs release and we could be sure they would be returned to us after our withdrawal. To this day most Americans do not know that when we left Vietnam hundreds of thousands of people were brutally killed. Mass genocide. We didn't get our POWs back either. Not then and some not ever. This is John Kerry's legacy. We have a responsibility not to let him manipulate public perception again. And he has already begun. It started with Fahrenheit 911. Remember Michael Moore sitting next to Jimmy Carter at the democratic national convention?

Our enemies know who John Kerry is and what he'll do for America, just like the North Vietnamese knew what he was doing. We know they knew because they told our POWs as they tortured them that they would win on the streets of America and they would hold on, refusing to surrender, waiting for the public outcry to be so loud that America would pull out and would win. And so it was. And so Al Quaeda, Iran's mercenaries and the Saddam loyalist wait now.

Will John Kerry call a meeting with Zarqawi, Bin Ladan, Sadr and Hussain if he's elected? Will he hold it in Paris like he did with the Viet Cong? And by the way, that was treason. He needs to face the charge.

What has he got to say about this? HOW DARE WE QUESTION HIS PATRIOTISM! HE WON'T ALLOW IT! I say we have a responsibility to question his patriotism. We have to question his motivation. We have a responsibility to counter any misperceptions, propaganda or lie we encounter. So that history doesn't repeat itself.

I've asked Ays to send me some pictures of some good things in Iraq. I hope he replies. I have a feeling there are some wonderful things going on there and we are not hearing the stories. I'm going to try and find some of them and if I do I'll post here. We can see beyond the television these days. I think I'll send Al Gore a memo thanking him for inventing the internet.
