My precious daughter who I love more than life.

I kissed her head and I said "watch your fingers!" as she got out of the car. Her school building is a polling place.

I sat up straighter and set my jaw. I squared my shoulders.

And I dismissed you. As every other mother and father who dropped their children off at school this morning dismissed you.
